It is with great sadness that we have heard the news that Angharad Roberts has recently passed away. Angharad passed away a couple of weeks ago at the Marie Curie Hospice in Penarth.

Angharad was a designer, friend and champion of the work of Spectacle Theatre for many years.

Her designs were a major contribution to so many productions .   ‘ The Lazy Ant’ by Mark Ryan, designed by Angharad, won the best production award at the Shanghai Theatre festival in 2007.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Her visual visual creations , imaginative costumes and sheer hard work were always inspiring.

Angharad made a huge contribution to Spectacle Theatre. Her supportive manner often paved the way to open up new ideas , leading to solutions that transformed spaces  for the most challenging of valley venues.

She was a brilliant, imaginative problem solver, having both the artistic skill and the craft to realise her vision.

I will always remember Angharad and her late husband Eric , for their friendliness, their support and generosity in all things.

Angharad will be much missed by Spectacle and her friends within and around the company.

Her funeral is next Monday 22nd 3.30pm at Thornhill Crem. with tea to celebrate her life at the New House Hotel afterwards.
